Dear Judith:
On behalf of the Board of Trustees of the Triangle Foundation, I am pleased to enclose a check for $1,100.00 for sponsorship of members of Youth First Texas to attend the National Equality March in Washington D.C. on October 11, 2009.
These funds were raised through the generous support of our donors who responded to the call to “send someone in your place” to the National Equality March (a request originally made by Cleve Jones recently in Dallas). We are very appreciative of their support.
The purpose of the Triangle Foundation is to provide (in part) enriching opportunities to individuals and groups that work toward a more powerful, secure and productive humanity free of discrimination. The National Equality March is a historical step in redefining our country’s attitude towards equality for all. Having members of Youth First Texas attend the march will – hopefully – provide an invaluable opportunity to see the impact of the march first hand, and the motivation to continue the work that needs to be done following the march.
Along with more established leaders, we are looking to our young community leaders to join in the momentum following the National Equality March to generate the change that is needed to bring full equality to Texas, and other parts of our county. We hope that our contribution to Youth First Texas will help bring this change one step closer.
